Definition of Bitumen 75/25
bitumen 75/25, commonly referred to as blown bitumen or blown asphalt, is a semi-solid grade of petroleum bitumen produced by blowing hot air through asphalt flux (grade 60/70 bitumen). The numbers 75/25 indicate the material’s softening point (75°C) and penetration value (25 dmm). The softening point is measured by the Ring and Ball method (ASTM D36), while the penetration value follows IP49 or ASTM D5.
Gold Bitumen ensures quality for oxidized bitumen 75/25 by arranging international inspectors to check it during loading. Our QC team also controls production through batch test reports, guaranteeing compliance with ASTM standards.
Uses of Bitumen 75/25
This grade of oxidized bitumen is widely used in chemical production, paints, lacquers, varnishes, paper-pulp-board, textile processing, road construction, pavement repairs, civil works, and construction industries. It serves as a sealing and insulating agent in buildings and is an additive for construction materials. Moreover, it works effectively as a dust-binding solution and is utilized in rubber and plastic product manufacturing.
In addition, oxidized bitumen is a key ingredient in asphalt-based paints for corrosion protection of metals and liners for public works structures. Electrical laminate manufacturers use it as an adhesive base, while synthetic turf producers rely on it for strong backing. Applications include waterproofing, pipe coating for corrosion resistance, paint manufacturing, caulking, mastics, and damp-proofing. It is also popular in the automobile industry for undercoating, where it offers waterproofing, dustproofing, and noise reduction.
Application of Oxidized Bitumen
Before application, heat oxidized bitumen 75/25 to about double its softening point to achieve proper flow and viscosity. Ensure that surfaces are dry, clean, and free of loose particles, curing products, irregularities, and slurries.
Storage and Handling
Oxidized bitumen has a shelf life of up to 10 years, even after repeated heating and cooling cycles. Always refer to its MSDS for safe handling instructions.
Packing of Oxidized Bitumen
Gold Bitumen offers oxidized bitumen in various packaging options, such as Kraft bags, moldable plastic bags, drums, and bulk containers. The product undergoes a controlled blowing process, and we supply all grades of oxidized bitumen, indicated by softening point and penetration range (e.g., 75°C softening point and 25 dmm penetration). All products comply with ASTM standards.
Guarantee / Warranty
Gold Bitumen guarantees the quality of oxidized bitumen by arranging international inspectors to verify quality and quantity before shipment. Our QC team ensures production compliance through batch test reports, meeting ASTM and EN 13304:2009 standards.
