Oxidized Bitumen (Blown Bitumen) Supplier in UAE, Jebel Ali, Dubai

Oxidized Bitumen – also known as Blown Bitumen – is a specialty bitumen produced by blowing air through pure penetration grade bitumen at high temperatures. This process increases the softening point and decreases the penetration, creating a product with excellent chemical stability and water resistance. Oxidized bitumen is widely used across the Middle East, with a strong demand in export hubs such as Jebel Ali, Dubai, and throughout the UAE.

At Gold Bitumen, we are a leading manufacturer and exporter of all grades of oxidized bitumen directly from our refinery in Iran. For more information, contact us on WhatsApp.

How Is Bitumen Produced?

Oxidized bitumen is made by passing hot air (200-300°C) through penetration grade bitumen in special reactors. The air oxidizes the bitumen molecules, resulting in a more rubbery, less penetrable, and more heat-resistant product. This process also produces various grades with different properties, suitable for industrial and construction applications.

Main Grades of Bitumen

Our factory offers a full range of oxidized bitumen grades, including:

We also supply special grades and custom specifications based on client requirements.

What Do The Numbers Mean?

The grade designation (e.g., 85/25) refers to the softening point (°C) and the penetration value (dmm). For example, Bitumen 85/25 has a softening point of 85°C and a penetration of 25 dmm. Lower penetration means harder bitumen, while higher softening points indicate greater heat resistance.

Applications of Oxidized

Oxidized bitumen is used in:

  • Waterproofing: Roofs, membranes, and damp proofing systems
  • Road Construction & Maintenance: As an additive or binder in asphalt mixes (Bitumen 60/70)
  • Hydro Projects: Canal lining, dam lining, sand stabilization
  • Pipe Coating: Oil & gas pipelines for corrosion resistance
  • Electrical Industry: Coating and sealing electrical cables and junction boxes
  • Flooring & Industrial Mastics: Chemical plant floors, acid and alkali proofing, tile adhesive
  • Packaging: Adhesives for cork, felt, papers, and insulation boards

Advantages of Oxidized

  • High durability and aging resistance
  • Superior water and chemical resistance
  • Flexible at high and low temperatures
  • Excellent adhesive and bonding properties

Packing & Delivery

We offer oxidized bitumen in 25kg & 50kg meltable polyamide bags, kraft bags, or in bulk, delivered to major ports including Jebel Ali, Dubai, and other destinations worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is oxidized (blown) bitumen and how is it made?

Oxidized bitumen is bitumen that has been treated with air or oxygen to increase its softening point and make it more suitable for applications like roofing, waterproofing, and pipe coating. It is made by blowing air through the bitumen at a high temperature.

Which grades suit roofing, waterproofing, or pipe coating?

Grades such as Bitumen 115/15, 90/10, and 150/5 are commonly used for roofing and waterproofing due to their high softening points and resistance to water. Bitumen 90/10 is ideal for pipe coating.

What are typical softening points and penetration ranges by grade?

Oxidized bitumen grades vary in softening points from 85°C to 155°C. The penetration range typically varies from 3–10 dmm, depending on the grade.

What packaging options are available (bags, drums, bulk/bitutainer)?

We offer oxidized bitumen in a variety of packaging options, including 25kg bags, 200L drums, and bulk shipments via bitutainers or tankers for large orders.

Do you provide TDS/SDS and third-party inspection before shipment?

Yes, we provide TDS (Technical Data Sheets) and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) along with third-party inspection certificates from trusted agencies to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
