How Is Bitumen Produced?
Oxidized bitumen is made by passing hot air (200-300°C) through penetration grade bitumen in special reactors. The air oxidizes the bitumen molecules, resulting in a more rubbery, less penetrable, and more heat-resistant product. This process also produces various grades with different properties, suitable for industrial and construction applications.

What Do The Numbers Mean?
The grade designation (e.g., 85/25) refers to the softening point (°C) and the penetration value (dmm). For example, Bitumen 85/25 has a softening point of 85°C and a penetration of 25 dmm. Lower penetration means harder bitumen, while higher softening points indicate greater heat resistance.
