General Description of Emulsion Bitumen CRS, CRS-1, CRS-2, RS
Emulsion bitumen CRS is made by mixing hot bitumen with water using high-speed equipment. As a result, the bitumen breaks into small droplets that stay in water with the help of a chemical called an emulsifier. These droplets can have either a negative (anionic) or positive (cationic) charge depending on the type of emulsifier used.
This type of bitumen is easy to apply, especially because it can stick well to damp surfaces. Moreover, it doesn’t need high heat, making it more practical and safer to use in many conditions.
