Bitumen Mastic
General Description of Bitumen Mastic
Erected with love home, needs to be protected, and, above all, of the moisture. From waterproofing quality, it depends how long will the foundation and roof. Among the variety of modern materials there is one that provides a seamless airtight protection from water even in hard to reach areas and on difficult surfaces at an affordable price – is mastic asphalt.
Nowadays asphalt mastic – a “cocktail” of natural bitumen (one of the products of oil refining) and synthetic components of modifier to increase the service life of the coating, grip, and ease of application. It is suitable not only for waterproofing surfaces made of bricks, concrete, and wood but irregularities putty, filling the cracks, gluing roofing membranes. Mastic has obvious advantages such as high flexibility, the ability to hold on almost all surfaces, cracks and fractures for a long time, resistance to aggressive environments.
• Position of the additives. The main groups: mastic asphalt – traditional inexpensive material,
• bituminous mastic – coating with high elasticity and resistance to external influences,
• bitumen mastic emulsion – intended for pre-treatment of surfaces prior to waterproofing, also called “primers” (about they can be read here) are more liquid consistency,
• bitumen mastic -polymer – compounds with the addition of synthetic rubber, plasticizers, solvents that increase the lifetime and quality of coverage.

ToggleAlso, bitumen mastic has been known and used for many years as a weather and wearing surface for roofs, floors, footwalks, and light driveways. It is composed essentially of a graded mineral aggregate and a bituminous binder, and is distinguished from the bituminous wearing surface of streets and roadways by containing so much of the bituminous binder that when hot it is of dough like consistency so that it can be compressed and smoothed to a true surface with light hand tools such as a wood float or spatula. On the other hand, the bituminous wearing surface of the streets and roadways is comparatively lean in the bituminous binder and even when hot is still of a granular and relatively dry appearance and condition.
Bitumen Mastic is manufactured under the guidance of highly experienced professionals by using premium grade solvent and other raw ingredients to conform to the predefined industry standards. It is also known as solvent based rubber mastic joint sealant and is widely used as a caulking agent for concrete, brickwork and other construction materials.
Offered Bitumen Mastic is known for its tough and flexible sealing nature and high abrasion and temperature resistant properties. We provide it in different quantities and economical rates for our respected customers.
Bitumen Sealing Mastic
Bitumen Sealing Mastic can be used in a wide range of applications, for example: fixing of cracks, cuts and bubbles which may occur on the waterproofing layer; to seal details (drain outlets, air vents, drainage pipes, chimneys, corners, etc.), to reinforce joins and weak points of the bituminous membrane, seal mechanical fixings and to fix bituminous shingles. Bitumen Sealing Mastic is a bituminous mastic specifically developed to be used along with the ITLS P+V polymer bitumen membrane to seal those areas of the roof such as details, perimeters, protruding objects, etc.
Bitumen Sealing Mastic is a flexible bituminous mastic reinforced with synthetic fibers which, once dry, forms a plasticized layer with excellent adhesion. BITUMEN MASTIC has an excellent adhesion and durability on bituminous surfaces, galvanized sheets, smooth and corrugated metal sheets, concrete, fiber cement, etc. which remains constant in time. The product has excellent resistance to aging, U.V. ray and atmospheric aggression. Bitumen Sealing Mastic can also be applied at temperatures below 0 °C, on slightly humid surfaces and is compatible with all types of bituminous membranes.
Bitumen mastic paving
It is spread with rakes as a loose mixture and afterwards compressed with heavy mechanically operated rollers, weighing from 5 to 1.0 tons. As bituminous mastic is used in buildings as a floor surface or over light foundation course as in a park or sidewalk or light driveway, it must necessarily be of such a nature that it can be put in place without a heavy roller, as is the practice in compressing bituminous street paving surfaces.
Bitumen mastic flooring
The presence in bituminous mastic of a surplus of bituminous binder has constituted a defect in such mastic making it more or less plastic, and when heavy loads, or even moderate loads supported upon but a small area. Are placed upon it, they sink into and mark by indentations the floor or walk to an objectionable degree, making it unsightly and rough.
Bituminous, mastic has heretofore been made in two ways. The first and earliest way is to select and pulverize a native rock asphalt, usually and preferably a calcareous rock which is of a porous nature and has become impregnated through natural causes with a maltha or other form of native bitumen. Such rock carries from 5 to 10% bitupulverized and even when heated does not, bituminous mastic
Application of Bitumen Mastic
BITUMEN MASTIC is a plastic, non-slumping compound which provides an effective seal between most roofing materials. It is used for general waterproofing and sealing repairs; sealing cracks, holes, and joints either as a finish or before the application of other materials and for remedial work before the application of SEALOFLASH or ALLPRUFE.
Filling cracks and fissures – in concrete, roofing felt, asphalt, lead, zinc, corrugated asbestos cement, steel, masonry, and renderings.
Joint-sealing in gutters, spouts, down-pipes, between corrugated asbestos-cement and iron sheetings, around skylights and pre-cast concrete units.
Bedding tiles, slates, and flashings in position.
Bitumen Mastic is Acid and Alkali resistant for use as a protective impervious membrane suitable for concrete, brickwork, steel etc.
Bitumen Mastic has good resistance to a large number of mildly corrosive conditions.
